There are certain steps that you can take that will teach you how to eliminate resentment so that you can experience the magic of making up. Resentment has been considered to be extremely dangerous to an individuals mental and physical well-being. It can result in your experiencing lower energy levels, and it can affect your physical well-being.
It can increase your stress level and decrease your tolerance level. Worst of all, it can completely damage any and all relationships that you find yourself in. In this relationship guide, I will share some basic strategies on how you can finally experience the magic of making up by letting go of resentment.
1. If you find that you are in a position where you have resentment toward your partner, it is important that you understand the first step to eliminating it from your life is to forgive the person. This may take a little more than just letting go. You may actually have to discuss the issue with your partner. In many cases, it is often best if you do.
2. Learn to own up to your faults. You can face a hard time connecting with your partner if youre always on the offensive. Choose your words carefully. Listen to what your partner has to say. Then admit that youre partly responsible for the issue.
3. Highlight the positive and downplay the negative. Compared to finding out who caused the mistake, its more productive and worthwhile to learn from the mistake.
4. Simply make the decision to let go and let life. There are certain things that you must accept in life. One is that you and your partner may not always see eye to eye, but that this is no reason to harbor resentment.
5. Now, it is time to tell yourself that you have forgiven your partner. There is a time in which we must accept that there are things that will not change just because we want them to. Some things are meant to be different. Your partner is an individual with unique methods of doing things and unique feelings. Accept this truth and move on.
